Graduation Ceremony Participation Requirement
SLHS understands that its students are young adults who recognize the importance of self-managed behavior. It is in this frame of reference that the expectations of daily attendance required for participation in graduation is set forth. A graduation ceremony is an honor and a privilege, not a right.
To participate in the South Lake High School Graduation Ceremony, seniors must be in attendance 90% of the school year. (18 days total)
An absence is defined as the following: excused, unexcused or missing four (4) or more class periods in a school day. NOTE: Testing days or field trips do not count as absences for students.
An attendance committee will preside over appeals. Students who appeal on medical conditions must provide the committee with a doctor’s note.
