2026-27 Parking Permit Announcement
The 2026-27 Parking Permit Application and the Senior Space Painting Instructions with Dates/Times are now available!
Sales for parking permits will be held this year on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
The FIRST session on July 22nd will be for SENIORS ONLY and will be held from 8:00-11:00 a.m.
The SECOND session on July 22nd will be for all eligible students (including seniors) from 12:30-3:00 pm.
Students unable to attend the first two sessions will have another opportunity on Thursday, August 6, 2026 from 12:30 – 2:30 pm, during upperclassmen orientation.
All other sales (after August 6th) will occur after school, starting Monday, August 10th. Announcements will be made concerning the time and days that week sales will open for these sessions. Permits will not be distributed during any other times (I.e., during class, before school, during lunch times, etc.).
Parents, prior to sending your student to obtain a permit, please:
• Check your student’s GPA (Must be a 2.0 or higher, unweighted)
• Check to make sure your student does not owe any fines. These inquiries can be emailed to Mrs. Flynn at flynnc@lake.k12.fl.us.
• Read the entire parking application and have the application printed with you along with the required documents below.
• Make sure all vehicle paperwork is current (insurance card, vehicle registration, Student’s Driver’s license).
Doing these things will help speed up the permit distribution process. To access the documents you need for the parking permits, you can use the link below or go to South Lake High School website, then at the top right click EXPLORE, then DOCUMENTS.

Class of 2026 Valedictorian, Itzel Reyna. Her proudest accomplishment was winning 1st place in the Envirothon! Her plans after high school is to major in biomedical engineering and then on to medical school at UF. The best high school moment was having great teachers like Ms. Sanders and Dr. Singh, who even after going onto the college, were still great sources of support for her. The words of Advice she gives is let yourself experience the moments. Don't be so focused on the future that you miss what is meaningful in the moments that are happening. Find peace in those times. Congratulations Itzel!
Class of 2026 Salutatorian, Leila Palanza! Her proudest accomplishment is getting her AICE diploma and having the 2nd highest GPA of the graduating class. She plans to study business and go onto get her MBA at FSU! The best moment of high school was staying in AICE after the first year when she wanted to quit, but with positive encouragement from her mother and Mrs. Bains, it made her feel confident that she could over come the challenges. Leila words of advice is don't take everything so serious and just do your own thing. Congratulations Leila!
Class of 2026 SGA President: Victoria Outler.
Her proudest accomplishment has been working on her Associates Degree while in high school. Her plans are to finish nursing school and become a CNRA is to attend Advent Health University. Her best high school memory has been the last day of school because it made me appreciate the school more and all the memories I made with my friends. The words of advice she gives is to take your time and know that it will all work out. Don't stress about things that you can't fix yourself. Thank you Victoria for your hard work this year!

Her proudest accomplishment has been being the class president and being able to influence student life on campus. The best moments was her first day of school of her Senior year and the pep rally. She wants to become an orthodontist and will be attending Clark Atlanta University. The words of advice she gives is to stay focused on your goals. Thank you Kierstin for your hard work this year!

Our SLHS Construction Academy completed Habitat for Humanity Project #5 this week with a celebration on Stuckey Loop west of Mascotte. The new home for The Boykins is a testament to the hard work of our construction teacher, Mr. Fullerton, his top-tier students, Habitat for Humanity of Lake & Sumter County, and the Stuckey Community Improvement Group. SLHS is proud of this program and how they are helping members of our communites become home owners. Go Eagles!
